Adventist Colleges Abroad
Adventist Colleges Abroad (ACA) is a consortium of Seventh-day Adventist Colleges and Universities in North America and Australia which operates under the auspices of the Office of Education of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists located in Columbia, Maryland. Walla Walla University is a member of the Adventist Colleges Abroad (ACA) consortium. ACA destinations consist of a collection of accredited Adventist schools across Europe, South America, and Asia.
The ACA consortium provides opportunities to qualified secondary and undergraduate students to study in other countries while completing the requirements of their programs at their home colleges. Students are immersed in the culture and life of another country while becoming proficient in its language.

There are no language fluency prerequisites for any of the language programs other than Spanish. All other programs accept students who are total beginners in the target language. Before applying for the academic year programs in Argentina or Spain, students must have completed either 2 years of Spanish language in high school or 1 year of Spanish in college. There is no language prerequisite for any of the summer programs, including Spain.
All students wishing to study abroad through ACA must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and a good student conduct record, demonstrating the necessary maturity to have a successful study abroad experience and willingness to support the Adventist lifestyle standards expected on these campuses.
Check the ACA bulletin for course descriptions and policies. The PDF documents available below outline how courses at each international ACA campus will apply toward general studies and language minor requirements at WWU.

Note that the ACA application is a pdf document that requires signatures from several people/offices at WWU. We recommend that you get those signatures in the following order:
- Begin by speaking with the ACA Coordinator to get full instructions on how best to complete the application process (lauren.peterson@cnof86.com; ADM 208)
- Then consult with your academic advisor to make sure you understand the academic implications for spending time abroad.
- You will also need to speak with Claudia Osorio (claudia.osorio@cnof86.com) in the Financial Aid Office about the financial implications of studying abroad.
- Once you have confirmed both the academic and financial viability of studying abroad, get approval from the Student Life Office.
- Finally, take your application to the Records Office which will confirm your academic eligibility (including verification with Admissions) and send your completed application to the ACA office.
Be aware that ACA will not see your application until it has been printed, signed by all of the people listed above, and submitted by the WWU Records Office.
